PineHeroes: Javkhlant.A "I realized that I wasn't adequate enough, so I decided to study at Pinecone."
Nov 5, 2024
I studied to become a Software Engineer at a university in the U.S. However, due to COVID, I wasn’t able to graduate and returned to Mongolia. When I got back, I applied for several jobs in my field, including one at Khan Bank, but I didn’t get hired. That’s when I understood that I needed to improve my skills, so I chose to study at Pinecone.
I enrolled in Pinecone in September 2022 and graduated in the summer of 2023, shortly before starting my current job. During my time at Pinecone, I truly grasped what strong skills entail, and now I feel confident in my abilities and believe I won’t fall short in my work.
Pinecone focused heavily on practical experience, which significantly impacted my learning. I worked on multiple projects while also honing my coding skills. There were many times when I disagreed with my teammates or felt like quitting, but looking back, I realize that learning to work as part of a team was an essential part of the process.
In my opinion, being a Software Engineer is one of the most interesting professions. If you can showcase your skills and prove your value, the growth opportunities are wide open. The work schedule is flexible, and the starting salary is above average. Of course, as you gain experience, your salary increases as well. If someone is willing to put in the effort, there are plenty of opportunities to work abroad as a Software Engineer.
One of the best things about this job is seeing the code you write come to life as a product. Witnessing the results of your work is incredibly rewarding. If my younger sibling or anyone else is considering this career path, I would wholeheartedly support their decision.
