PineHeroes: Sed-Erdene.O "The reason people are not interested in the software engineering profession is"
Dec 19, 2024
My name is Sed-Erdene, and I am 19 years old. When I was little, my grandparents bought a computer, and I used to play on it with my brother for almost the entire day. As I grew older and started thinking about my career, I realized that the thing I was best at was working with computers.
So, when I entered the 10th grade, I wanted to join the information technology class, but it would only start if there were 10 students. However, there weren't enough students interested in this profession, because many people believe that you need to be exceptionally smart to pursue it.
Since the class didn't get enough students, I left school and enrolled in a college to study "Electronic Equipment Service Technician," and graduated with that qualification. After graduation, I was unsure whether I should work or continue studying. My sister suggested I join Pinecone, and I tried to join but failed at first. Six months later, I was able to join.
Now, I’ve graduated from Pinecone and am working at a company called Metacog. The work environment is really great. My colleagues treat me like an equal, not just a kid, and they are open and friendly, which makes it easy for me to express myself. I’m also interested in entering the AI field in the future.
The first time I received my salary, it felt really great. I bought all the things I wanted. I couldn't save any money in my first month, but from the second month, I started saving.
At first, my parents supported me when I wanted to join the Leap program, but there were some issues with the payment. My dad worked hard to solve the payment issue.
Now, I’m saving money to take my dad for a full body checkup. I’m also determined to be independent and not ask for money from him as much as possible.
I really want to thank my dad for all the help and support he has given me up to this point.
I also want to express my deep gratitude to Temüülen, my instructor, and other teachers. They were always willing to help and explain things when I didn’t understand something. My classmates were also great, and the learning environment was excellent.
When I first joined Pinecone, I was worried I might not find a job after graduating. Another fear I had was studying alongside so many talented people, which made me nervous. But now, if you're studying or planning to study in the Leap program, I want to tell you: Don’t give up. Instead of wondering if you’re capable, focus on whether you truly enjoy what you’re doing. Think carefully about what you really love and want to pursue.
